SHILLONG, June 14: The Meghalaya BJP is determined to continue raising its voice against any alleged irregularity in the state even if the state government remains on denial mode.
BJP state vice president, Bernard Marak on Tuesday said the NPP-led MDA government, of which it is a part, may continue to be on denial mode on the various allegations of corruption and irregularities but it would not deter the BJP since the party is talking facts based on evidence obtained through RTI findings.
“They have to deny and they are denying but it is our duty to ensure that the schemes reach the target and that is why we are raising these issues. No matter how much they deny we will continue to raise such issues,” Marak said.
“We are inquiring into more schemes and recently we have filed RTIs on PMGSY, JJM and several other schemes. We have also discussed the zero balance accounts where women are supposed to get Rs 500 which they have not,” he said.
Referring to the CAG’s letter against the autonomous district councils, Marak said it would have a tremendous impact and if the district councils do not respond, the Governor will take some hard decisions and may even initiate a CBI probe since it involves central funds.
