NFR cancels more trains amid Bihar stir, floods

Guwahati, June 21: The NF Railway has cancelled more trains in view of large-scale agitation leading to damage to railway property, including burning of train coaches, in areas falling under East Central Railway (Bihar) and damages caused to railway tracks owing to flood-induced breaches in the Chaparmukh-Senchoa section of Lumding division.

“The 15658 (Kamakhya-Delhi) Brahmaputra Mail, 05504 (Mairabari – Guwahati) passenger special, 07530 (Silghat Town-Guwahati) DEMU special that were scheduled to run on June 22, 2022, will remain cancelled,” a statement from NFR said on Tuesday.

Besides, the 15621 (Kamakhya – Anand Vihar) Express that was scheduled to run on June 23, 2022 will remain cancelled, it stated.

However, NF Railway has decided to run a one-way special train from Guwahati to Ledo for the convenience of passengers.

“Train number 05603 (Guwahati – Ledo) Special will leave from Guwahati at 11.30 pm on June 21, 2022 and will reach Ledo at 1.25pm on June 22, 2022,” it said on Tuesday evening.

“The train will run via Chaparmukh, Lumding, Furkating, Simaluguri, Tinsukia and Makum junctions. The train will have AC- 3 tier, AC – 2 tier, sleeper class and general second class accommodation along with luggage cum brake vans,” the statement said.
