May Day
Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Unions and Associations have decided to celebrate May Day on May 1 at CTO Parking lot.
The Meghalaya State Committee of the All India Trade Union Congress while deciding to observe May Day on May 1 has demanded the government to declare the day as paid holiday for the workers.

Gramsevika, an association of qualified and unemployed candidates named as has been formed with P Nongkhlaw as the president, R Syrem as the vice president, B Jyrwa as the general secretary and D Hynniewta as the treasurer besides five executive members.
Clarification
L.E. Suchiang, the Convener of the Joint Action Committee to protest against crime against women and children informed that P A Lyngdoh was not the secretary of Umpling Dorbar , but the secretary of the Joint Action Committee which will be holding the protest rally in support with the Dorbar on May 4.
