SHILLONG, July 16: The Department of Khasi of Shillong Commerce College on Saturday remembered U Tirot Sing Syiem on 187th death anniversary during a programme here.
According to a statement, the programme was attended by college principal Dr Sabita Sen, students and other faculty members.
As part of the programme, talks were held on the life of Tirot Sing, his struggles, his knowledge, and his tales of valour and glory.
It was also informed that Tirot Sing understood not only the geography of the land but also the laws and customs of his people.
