Arrest
Police on Tuesday evening arrested one Suraj Thapa (32) for driving his jeep (ML 10 1421), under the influence of liquor at Laitumkhrah Bazar. He was caught by a concerned citizen first who later informed the police. He has been forwarded to the court along with non-FIR.
Assault
One person was robbed and assaulted by unknown miscreants near Jhalupara point on Tuesday night as a result of which he sustained minor injuries and later shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.
On June 3 at around 4 pm, one Francis Kyndait assaulted his wife, Qwiresrina Dkhar (18 yrs) and her sister, Cicilia Dkhar (13 yrs) and also threatened them with dire consequences, at Kyndong Tuber (WJH).
On May 31 at around 7.30 pm, one Bismal Nongsiej and his five accomplices of Nongspung village armed with lethal weapons, assaulted one Rodystar Nongsiej in his house at Mawlein, Nongspung (EKH) and also burnt down his house. As a result, the house was completely gutted. Loss of property was estimated around Rs. 10 lakh.
Theft
On June 4 at about 2.30 am, unknown miscreants stole one digital camera, one sun-glass and other valuables total valued around Rs. 31,950 from the car (ML-05G-9835) belonging to Miss Tracy Ilaridor Warjri, which was parked at Madanrting.
On May 28, two persons, Nibhas Rajyoung (18 yrs) and his accomplice stole three tyres belonging to M/s Ramki Infrastructure at Narang village under Nongpoh PS (RB). Later, they sold the tyres to one Klester Syngkli. Police arrested the accused and Klester Syngkli.
Freak accident
One 31 year old man died after he fell in the drain and drown at Parmaw, Upper Shillong.
Threatening case
One Rinku Paul lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on June 3 circa 5 pm, two persons, Pronob Sen Purkayastha and Pradip Sen Purkayastha, threatened her and her daughter with dire consequences, in their house at Jail Road, Shillong.
Meanwhile, in a counter FIR, Pradip Sen Purkayastha lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on June 3 at around 5.10 pm, Rinku Paul abused him and also attempted to assault him and his labourers with lethal weapons at Jail Road.
Kidnapping case
One Babu Tamang lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on June 2 at around 1 pm, one Sidharth Rai (22 yrs) kidnapped his minor daughter (6 yrs) in a Maruti car (ML-04B-6014) from Sohksi (EJH) to Shangpung (EJH). Later, the local residents rescued the victim, apprehended and assaulted the accused at Shangpung.
