Transformer near Red Cross catches fire

SHILLONG, Nov 28: A 250 kVA (kilovolt ampere) transformer adjoining to the Shillong Civil Hospital building near Red Cross, Laban, caught fire on Monday night.
The fire was the result of a puncture of a cable in view of the overloading.
The transformer caters to residents of Red Cross and its nearby areas, an MeECL official informed.
