HSPDP MLAs decision to support NPP draws flak; protests today

SHILLONG, March 3: Pressure is mounting on the two HSPDP MLAs Methodius Dkhar and Shakliar Warjri to withdraw their support to the NPP in forming the government.
In protest against the decision of the two HSPDP MLAs, the HYC and Ka Sur U Paidbah ka Bri U Hynniewtrep will also hold two separate meetings on Saturday.
In Motphran, the HYC will hold a meeting at 1 pm to condemn the decision of the two HSPDP MLAs for not extending support to the regional parties in forming a government without NPP.
As a mark of protest, effigies of Dkhar and Warjri will also be torched.
Meanwhile, Ka Sur U Paidbah ka Bri U Hynniewtrep, in protest against the duo, will also hold a meeting at 10 am on Saturday near Madan Heh, Mawlai Phudmuri.
Apart from setting ablaze the effigies, they will also demand of the two MLAs to immediately withdraw the letter of their support to the NPP.
Earlier, the leaders of Ka Sur U Paidbah ka Bri U Hynniewtrep also informed that they had met the 30 newly elected MLAs of the UDP, VPP, Congress, AITC, PDF, HSPDP and independent MLA from Rambrai-Jyrngam at the official residence of Lahkmen Rymbui.
They have also welcomed the move to install a new coalition government without the NPP and BJP.
