SHILLONG: Noted and renowned film maker and film Director from Jaintia hills, Semiroy Khongtiang and seven others including her eight-year-old daughter were injured when the vehicle (AS 03D 4456) they were travelling fell into a gorge at a remote village in East Jaintia hills district.
The incident happened at Nongthymmai Kairang near Byndihati under Khliehriat on Saturday last.
Khongthiang had gone with the team of artists to the village to shoot for her upcoming movie – “Chipraek Dei Maya” – a romantic comedy movie.
Brake failure is reported to be the cause of the accident.
Apart from the director, her daughter Ekratia Khongthiang (8), main actress and five other artists sustain injuries and were immediately rushed to the Khliehriat CHC for medical attention.
