SHILLONG, May 22: The Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong Ka Bri U Hynniewtrep (SNSBH) formed an 11-member core committee on Monday to deliberate on the issue of roster system.
SNSBH general secretary, RL Blah told reporters the core committee is likely to meet on Wednesday to deliberate on the points and issues it will highlight before the government. He said the government assured to invite them for a discussion on the matter and the meeting is likely on May 26.
Blah said the SNSBH cannot attend the meeting blindly since it is not very familiar with the roster system. Majority of its members are not government employees.
According to Blah, they will need to present a unanimous voice while attending the meeting. He said the state government will give a power-point presentation on its plan and objective on the implementation of the roster system.
He also said they will not like to comment until they hear what the government has to say. “Definitely, we can decide on our stand after the meeting with the government,” Blah said.
He said Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma made it clear the discussion would be restricted only to the roster system.
He said the CM and Law Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said the roster system will be implemented retrospectively but he said the SNSBH favours its prospective implementation.
