Shillong, May 27: On Saturday morning, the Delhi-NCR region woke up to heavy rain, winds, and thunderstorms. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast pleasant weather for the ensuing three to four days.
According to the IMD, there won’t be any heatwave conditions until May 30. Following the rain, waterlogging was seen in numerous areas of Delhi. The abrupt weather change is anticipated to provide relief from the sweltering heat that is now prevalent over North India.
Traffic jams were caused by uprooted trees and waterlogging in various areas of the city, including the stretch of road between Vasant Vihar and the Delhi airport, the Kanshiram Takkar Marg, and the Mahipalpur highway underpass.
IMD has forecast thunderstorms and further downpours for the day. The highest temperature is probably going to be close to 32 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Delhi today, according to the IMD, was 19.3 degrees Celsius, which is 7 degrees below average. Until 8.30 am, 16 mm of rainfall was witnessed in the nation’s capital.
Around 6.30 am, the IMD warned that under its impact, a thunderstorm with light to moderate rain and gusty gusts of 40 to 70 kmph would persist in Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas for the next two hours.
