The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Shillong Civil Hospital, has informed that due to the demise of Dr. Jeremy Buam, Specialist (Bio-Chem) of the hospital on June 4 at Rahaman Hospital, Guwahati, the OPD will be open till 12 noon on June 6 as a token of respect and appreciation for his contribution towards healthcare. “The emergency services will continue,” a statement in this regard said. Meanwhile, Dr. Buam’s funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday at his residence in Baniun Block-4, Upper Shillong, and will be laid to rest at Mawkhar Presbyterian Church cemetery, Lawmali.
Programme
A two-day programme under Mission LiFE Project was organised on May 30 and 31 by the Department of Environmental Management and Science, William Carey University. During the programme, a workshop-cum-student’s exhibition in collaboration and support of Social Forestry Division, EKH, as well as a special lecture series in collaboration with Botanical Survey of India, and a plantation drive were organised.
Office-bearers
The A’gitok Chra Association was recently formed during a meeting held at the Extension Training Centre at Dakopgre in Tura. Following the meeting, Roger Benny A Sangma was elected president, Waldy A. Sangma, Learmilford A. Sangma and Roberth A. Sangma as vice presidents, Manseng A Sangma as general secretary, among others.
