Shillong, July 23: At least five people lost their lives, and several others were hospitalized in Mansehra district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan, as heavy rainfall pounded the region. The downpour began on Friday night and continued until Saturday, leading to a landslide in the area.

In Chitral, the heavy rainfall resulted in flash floods that caused significant destruction, washing away bridges, roads, livestock, and houses.

The deceased individuals were identified as Afghan national Samiullah’s wife and son, Ajwa bibi, Mohammamed Hussain, and an unidentified man, whose body was found in a swollen stream in Chitta Batta area.

The affected people have been provided essential supplies, but relief operations are facing challenges due to road blockades caused by the severe weather conditions.

Authorities are actively working to manage the situation and provide assistance to those impacted by the rainfall and subsequent disasters in both Mansehra and Chitral regions.
