Shillong, July 27: Bollywood star and BJP MP from Punjab’s Gurdaspur, Sunny Deol, spoke about the “hatred” between India and Pakistan, attributing it to “political games.” He made this remark during the grand trailer launch of ‘Gadar 2’ on Kargil Diwas, where filmmaker Anil Sharma, and actors Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma were also present.

As per IANS, Sunny emphasized the importance of humanity in the midst of the animosity, saying, “It’s not about taking or giving away things. It’s about humanity. There should be no conflicts.” He expressed that both countries share love for each other, but political maneuvers give rise to animosities, which will also be evident in the film. Sunny believes that the public doesn’t desire conflicts between the nations and, ultimately, everyone comes from the same soil.

‘Gadar 2’ is the sequel to ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,’ a romantic period action drama film released in 2001. The movie, directed by Anil Sharma and set during the Partition of India in 1947, stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Amrish Puri, and Lillete Dubey. The sequel takes place in 1971 and revolves around Tara Singh’s journey to Lahore, Pakistan, during an anti-India “Crush India” campaign to bring back his son Charanjeet.

Co-produced by Anil and Zee Studios, ‘Gadar 2’ is scheduled for release on August 11.
