KJP Synod Mihngi felicitates meritorious students

JOWAI: The Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Mihngi, Christian Education Department felicitated meritorious students at KJP Synod Mihngi Higher Secondary School Hall, Jowai on Monday.

The function was graced by Deputy Chief Minister, Prof. RC Laloo, as chief guest and Lok Sabha member, Vincent H Pala, along with West Jaintia Hill Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner, Peter S Dkhar, as guests of honour.

The students who were felicitated included Lamdeimon Pde, who secured 14th position in the SSLC Exam top twenty merit list, 2012, Gloria Challam who stood 6th in the HSSLC Arts Examination, 2013 and Riwanmitre Lamare, topper of the School. Riwanmitre Lamare was awarded the Mr. & Mrs. D. Blah Memorial Award, Gloria Challam was presented with the Mr. & Mrs. T. Nongtdu Memorial Award, while the MP presented cash prize of Rs. 50,000.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister congratulated the awardees on their achievement which would encourage other students to study with sincerity.

While congratulating the awardees, Pala lauded the efforts of teachers and the school management committee for the good results. He encouraged the students to have a goal and reach for it.

The felicitation function was attended by Rev. FS Rymbai, Rev. FM Gympad, the Executive Secretary CED, Principal of KJP Synod (M) Hr. Sec. School, Jowai, Rev. M Shylla besides others.
