SHILLONG: The KSU education cell has slammed the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister incharge of education for remaining silent over the problems faced by the teachers of the State under the umbrella of Joint Action Committee of All Teachers Association of Meghalaya (JACATAM).

Expressing shock over the adamant attitude of the State Government over this issue, KSU education cell secretary Donald Thabah felt that the direction given by the Chief Minister asking the agitating teachers to meet the chief secretary is just a delay tactic to downplay the whole issue.

“The demands of the JACATAM are clearly justified as these are the demands which does not only concern the welfare of the teaching community but also stressed on a better educational system in the state by improving quality education,” Thabah said.
