Shillong, October 2: Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, the Congress’ Rajasthan in-charge, has leveled accusations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that he is “defaming” Sikhs and turning the Khalistan issue into an international matter.

As per IANS, Randhawa made these statements during a media interaction at the Congress war room in Jaipur on Sunday.

Randhawa expressed, “PM Narendra Modi first defamed Muslims and now he is defaming Sikhs. In such a situation, where will the minority go? India is a secular state, and we have contributed to this nation with our blood.”

Regarding the Khalistan issue, Randhawa remarked, “The matter, which was not internationally highlighted during the era of Punjab terrorism, has now been internationalized by the Prime Minister.”

Addressing the ongoing dispute between India and Canada, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa commented, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was also a Prime Minister from the BJP, used to speak for India. The Prime Minister represents the entire nation and should speak for its unity. If there are elections, they come to Rajasthan to address the people. If women are suffering in Madhya Pradesh, why can’t they acknowledge it? By labeling non-citizens as Khalistanis, the PM is casting doubt on Punjabis.”

Randhawa emphasized, “The Prime Minister should focus on unifying the country rather than dividing Hindus and Sikhs. His statements are affecting the integrity of Sikhs. Even today, when a Punjabi sacrifices their life in the fight against Pakistan, a Punjabi’s body arrives first. Are Punjabis not patriots? Why doesn’t Prime Minister Modi acknowledge this? Does the PM intend to tarnish our image?”
