Lecture competition for Ri-Bhoi students

Nongpoh, Oct 7: To commemorate the Wildlife Week, the office of the District Planning Officer, Ri-Bhoi, on Saturday organised a lecture competition for the school students at Science Hall, Nongpoh, under the theme ‘Partnership for wildlife conservation’
Participants from different schools of Nongpoh area showcased their talents and knowledge in the competition enthusiastically with the theme given to them, aiming at protecting and preserving the wildlife, especially the endangered species.
Additional Deputy Commissioner and District Planning Officer, Ri-Bhoi, MB Tongper, who was the chief guest during the prize distribution, lauded the active participation of the students and congratulated the winners of the competitions.
He reminded that commemoration of the wildlife week is to create awareness among the people of the significance of wildlife and its preservation.
Tongper handed over prizes to Rihun Nongrum of Christian HS School and Krimdaior Sangma of Nomiwell Memorial Secondary School, who bagged the first and second prize respectively in the Junior category. In the Senior category, Rahul Dkhar of Christian HS School and Gadiela N Sungoh of Alpha English HS School bagged the first and second prize respectively.
