Shillong, December 6: In a significant development, Hanzla Adnan, the notorious Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative responsible for orchestrating the 2015 attack on a BSF convoy in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, was shot dead at the hands of unidentified assailants in Karachi, Pakistan, reported India Today.

Known to be in close proximity to LeT chief Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the infamous 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Adnan fell victim to four gunshots during the night of December 2 and 3.

The assailants targeted Adnan outside his secure residence, prompting swift action by the Pakistani Army, who clandestinely transported him to a Karachi hospital, as disclosed by sources to India Today TV. Despite these efforts, Adnan succumbed to his injuries on December 5.

Of notable interest is Adnan’s recent relocation of his operational base from Rawalpindi to Karachi, marking a strategic shift in his activities. This development raises questions about the evolving dynamics within LeT and its operatives, warranting close scrutiny of the organization’s current modus operandi. The elimination of Adnan is a significant blow to the LeT network, but it also underscores the persistent challenges posed by terrorism in the region.
