Modi Fan Club ropes in ex-Speaker

SHILLONG: The city-based Narendra Modi Fan Club has roped in former Assembly Speaker ED Marak as its vice president with an aim to expand its base in Garo Hills.

B Wankhar, general secretary of Narendra Modi Fan Club, Meghalaya, in a statement issued here on Wednesday said that Dondor Singh Rumnong, president of the Club, has expanded the state executive committee of the Club by nominating many office bearers and executive members from Garo Hills.

While Marak was appointed as vice president, Biplab Kr. Bose and Subhash Pandey were nominated as advisers. Ironish Sangma and Jeevan Krishna Ghosh were nominated as secretaries while executive members include Biraj Hajong, BK Sengupta and Nitai Baksuka.

Rumnong also appointed the district presidents including Cheerian A Sangma (Tura City), Basil Lamin (East Khasi Hills), Mohiron Hajong (South West Garo Hills) and Gopal Sharma (West Garo Hills).
