Expenditure Observers check poll preparedness in Mawkyrwat

MAWKYRWAT, April 1: The Expenditure Observers for Shillong seat, Satyapal S Meena and Kamlesh Kumar, visited Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills, on Monday, and convened a meeting at the office of the District Election Officer to assess the readiness and operations of various committees for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
During the session, Meena provided comprehensive instructions regarding the roles and duties of the Expenditure Monitoring team, urging the Assistant Expenditure Observer (AEO) to ensure timely report compilation.
Discussions were also held with nodal officers of different teams regarding election team preparedness, cash and liquor seizures, law and order status in the district, and teams tasked with monitoring compliance with the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and candidate/party expenditures. Emphasis was placed on promptly informing the Deputy Commissioner or Nodal Officers about any MCC violations or encountered issues.
District Election Officer, South West Khasi Hills, T Lyngwa, and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), South West Khasi Hills, LT Tariang, were among the attendees, along with other officers.
