SHILLONG, April 20: The proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) is yet to respond to the appeal of the state government for the continuation of the peace talks.
When contacted, HNLC’s interlocutor Sadon K. Blah on Thursday said that he has not received any fresh feelers from the outfit, reacting to the call of the state government on the peace talks.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong had reiterated that the door remains open for the proscribed militant organisation to engage in peace talks with the state government.
“We would like the HNLC to reconsider their stance and return to the negotiating table,” Tynsong had said.
According to him, if the HNLC chooses not to pursue dialogue, then the law of the land will prevail.
