SHILLONG: In a hit-and-run case, a woman was killed on the spot after being run over by a white Bolero without a number plate at Mawlai Nongkwar on Tuesday night.
The incident happened when the woman, who was wearing a sari, was trying to cross the road.
According to police, the vehicle fled from the scene after hitting the woman.
“We have detained a vehicle. But we are still verifying if it was the same vehicle which had hit the woman,” a senior police official said.
