Shillong, Nov 28: The picturesque PRP Valley near Guwahati played host to the FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship (INRSC) for two-wheelers, where Shillong’s Banteilang Jyrwa stole the show by clinching victory in the premier open class category at both the East Zone National Rally Sprint Championship and the NEMA Guwahati Sprint Rally, a local support event.
Competing on a wet and slushy track after overnight rains, riders faced added challenges from the hilly terrain but successfully navigated the course without incident, according to a press release.
In the Open Upto 550cc class, Jyrwa clocked a winning time of 6:55.800, while Naresh Vs finished as runner-up with a time of 7:12.100. Jyrwa continued his winning form in the NEMA Guwahati Sprint Rally, completing the course in 6:53.700 to secure another victory.
The 131cc to 165cc category saw Arnav Kalita take the top spot with a timing of 7:31.000, followed by Madhurjya Jyoti Rabha (7:50.200) and Kaustav Kalita (8:12.300). In the Ladies Upto 260cc class, Sneha Cc emerged victorious with a time of 11:32.200, ahead of Daisy Saikia, who clocked 16:34.700.
The Bullet Class Upto 550cc was dominated by Hansraj Saikia, who finished in 8:18.100. Madhurjya Jyoti Rabha (8:27.800) and Sidhartha Sikia (10:48.900) completed the podium. Saikia replicated his success in the NEMA Guwahati Sprint Rally, finishing first with a time of 8:20.300, followed by Udayan Das (9:27.000) and Sidhartha Sikia (10:41.500).
In the Veterans Upto 260cc category, Dipak Boro showcased his skills, completing the course in 9:38.700. Meanwhile, Amit Baidya shone in the Scooter Upto 210cc class, taking first place with a timing of 9:15.000, followed by Arnav Kalita (9:30.500).
The season finale of the INRSC-2W will take place in Pune on December 14-15, where the top riders from each zone will battle for the coveted national championship title.
