Parade

The passing out parade of the 38th basic batch Recruit Constables will be held on February 11 at 11 am at 1st MLP Bn Mawiong. FD Sangma, Inspector General of Police (TAP) Meghalaya will review the parade.

Programme

Franciscan Youth Federation organised a programme for disabled persons on February 1  and gifted blankets as a gesture of goodwill in service.

Sec 144CrPC

In view of the KHADC elections, the District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills has promulgated an order under section 144 CrPC prohibiting writing, pasting of posters or defacement in any other form. Meanwhile, the District Magistrate of Ri Bhoi has also promulgated an order under section 144 CrPC regulating the use of loudspeakers for public meetings for electioneering purpose and the use of loudspeaker is permitted only between 6 am to 10 pm.

Winners

Twenty five participants selected from different schools of the State to participate in Eastern India Science Fair 2014 held at Birla Industrial and Technological museum, Kolkata have brought laurels to the state. It was for the first time that a team from Meghalaya emerged as champions of the team category in the model exhibition of the Fair and the team model exhibition champions trophy entitled “Acharya PC Roy Challenge Trophy” was bagged by two students from Nongkrem Presbyterian Secondary School.
