Another miner dies in East Jaintia Hills

SHILLONG: There seems to be end to the sufferings of coal labourers as the ‘death pits’ of East Jaintia Hills continue to claim lives while the authorities continue to ignore their plight.
In the latest mine mishap recorded in East Jaintia Hills, a coal labourer identified as Rowan Rai (39) fell into a coal mine on February 25 and later succumbed to his injuries which he was being transported to a hospital.
