EKH crowned champions at 10th Jeet Kune-Do c’ship

Shillong, July 21: The 10th edition of the Meghalaya Jeet Kune-Do Championship concluded successfully at the MSMA Training Centre, Laitkor Kynton-U-Mon, on July 18 and 19. Organised by the Meghalaya Jeet Kune-Do Association (MJKA), the two-day state-level event saw spirited participation from 150 athletes representing six districts—East Jaintia Hills, West Jaintia Hills, West Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, West Garo Hills, and East Khasi Hills.
The championship was formally inaugurated by Shri P. Mawri, Headman of Laitkor Mawri Lumheh, while the closing ceremony and prize distribution were graced by Donny Ranee, Chairman of MSMA.East Khasi Hills District emerged victorious, claiming the overall team title, with West Jaintia Hills finishing as runners-up.MJKA President announced that top performers from the championship will be selected to represent Meghalaya at the upcoming Northeast Jeet Kune-Do Championship, scheduled for August 2025 at Cotton College, Guwahati. Additionally, they will also have the opportunity to compete at the 35th National Jeet Kune-Do Championship to be held in November.
