Photo competition in Tura during elections

SHILLONG: In a bid to involve, enthuse and motivate the voters of Tura Parliamentary Constituency, the District Returning Officer, Pravin Bakshi, and the SVEEP team of Tura have come up with yet another innovative Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation strategy to fire the imagination of the young voters.

A contest has been announced for voters to strike a pose and click “selfies” or self taken photographs which can be submitted to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills in the NIC Room for a ‘selfie’ competition in which the ten best ‘selfies’ shall be awarded Rs.1000 each.

Further, amateurs and veteran professional photographers can also capture the best moments of elections with all its drama, suspense, hype, excitement, anticipation and colour and claim Rs.1000 each for the top ten best photos.

The last date for submitting the soft copy of the “selfie” or the digital photograph shall be April 11, along with details of EPIC number, voter’s details and indelible ink mark as proof of vote. Prizes would be distributed on April 14.
