SHILLONG, Sep 13: Owing to the overwhelming and enthusiastic participation of youths from across Meghalaya, the Border Security Force (BSF) has extended its ongoing constable (General Duty) recruitment rally in the state till September 18.
In a statement here, the BSF said it had been witnessing an exceptional turnout since the commencement of the rally, with over 10,000 candidates already registered.
“The enthusiasm shown by aspiring youths—many of whom have traveled long distances from remote and far-flung areas—reflects a deep sense of patriotism and a strong desire to serve the nation. It is this remarkable level of interest and commitment that prompted BSF authorities to extend the rally, ensuring that every eligible and motivated candidate gets the opportunity to participate,” the BSF said.
It may be mentioned that the recruitment rally, organised under the aegis of the Meghalaya Frontier Headquarters, Shillong, is being conducted at two venues, namely BSF Campus, 200 Bn Dhanakgiri, Tura, and SHQ BSF Mawpat Campus, Shillong.
“Participation at both locations continues to grow daily. Notably, the rally has recorded a 70:30 male-to-female participation ratio, highlighting the rising aspiration and empowerment of young women keen to serve in one of India’s most respected uniformed services,” the BSF said.
“For the youth of Meghalaya, joining the BSF represents not just a career, but a chance to embrace a life of honour, courage and national service,” it added.
