In a first, MCSOA gets female prez

SHILLONG, Oct 21: Iadashisha Majaw has made history by becoming the first female president of the Meghalaya Civil Service Officers’ Association (MCSOA).
Majaw was elected for the 2025-2027 term during the association’s recently held annual conference.
The newly elected office-bearers of the MCSOA for the same term include PK Boro as vice president, MB Tongper as general secretary, Ronnie Wahlang as joint secretary, PT Passah as treasurer and Tosanbha Marwein as auditor.
The MCSOA has submitted several key proposals to the government, including the recognition of the MCS as the premier state service, the posting of MCS officers as deputy commissioners in selected districts, promotion to senior administrative positions, timely promotions, reduction of qualifying years for promotion and revision of the retirement age from 58 to 60 years.
