Body found
A homeless man, identified as Charlie Pyngrope, was found dead at Demseniong area near Mawsawa Shop on Sunday morning. Accordingly, inquest and other formalities were observed, and after post-mortem examination, the cadaver has been kept at Shillong Civil Hospital morgue for identification and claim. The incident refers to Rynjah PS Case No. 311(10)2025 U/S 105 BNS. Relatives and acquaintances of the person have been asked to identify and claim the body from NEIGRIHMS, East Khasi Hills Police said in a statement.
Dak Adalat
A Circle Level “Dak Adalat” will be held in the office of the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong, at 11 am on November 7. The Dak Adalat will entertain grievances pertaining to Postal Services for its redressal. Written complaints, with the subject ‘Dak Adalat’ superscribed on the cover and addressed to the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong-793001, should reach the aforementioned office on or before November 4.

Apropos of the news item that appeared in The Shillong Times (October 28, 2025) under the heading ‘Muster roll workers threaten stir over pending daily wages’, the All Jaintia Muster Roll Workers’ Union had a meeting with Commissioner and Secretary in-charge Finance, Vijay Kumar D. The error is regretted.
