SHILLONG, Nov 8: More than 30 radiologists and radiology residents from across Meghalaya conglomerated at Hope Clinic, Shillong, on Saturday to celebrate the International Day of Radiology (IDoR) with great enthusiasm.
According to a statement here, the event was organised by the Meghalaya State Chapter of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) to highlight the pivotal role of medical imaging in modern healthcare.
“This year’s IDoR theme highlighted the importance of radiology in accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and improving patient outcomes. The celebration at Hope Clinic included a scientific academic case presentation session where postgraduate residents, senior residents, consultants and faculty from NEIGRIHMS, Shillong Medical College, Supercare Hospital, Nazareth Hospital, Bethany Hospital, Woodland Hospital, Shillong Civil Hospital and Hope Clinic presented interesting and rare cases,” the statement said.
Addressing the gathering, president of the Meghalaya State Chapter of IRIA and Head of the Radiology Department at NEIGRIHMS, Dr. C. Daniala spoke about the growing importance of advanced imaging techniques in the present medical landscape.
He also highlighted the need for maintaining high standards in diagnostic quality.
On the other hand, president-elect of the Meghalaya IRIA, Dr. Donboklang Lynser, acknowledged the invaluable contributions of radiologists and radiographers in strengthening healthcare delivery across the state.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Humsheer S. Sethi, Assistant Professor at Shillong Medical College and Secretary of Meghalaya IRIA, who reaffirmed the association’s commitment to advancing the field of radiology and ensuring quality imaging services for all in Meghalaya.
