NEW DELHI, Dec 15: Gold prices in Delhi surged by Rs 4,000 to a record Rs 1,37,600 per 10 grams on Monday, driven by strong global cues and renewed safe-haven demand.
International spot gold touched USD 4,350 per ounce, marking its fifth consecutive session of gains. Domestic gold has jumped 74.3% this year, while silver soared 122.4% to Rs 1,99,500 per kilogram.
Analysts attributed the rally to expectations around upcoming US economic data, including non-farm payrolls and Core PCE inflation, alongside Federal Reserve liquidity measures.
Rising global uncertainty and macroeconomic volatility continue to drive historic gains in both gold and silver, attracting robust investor interest. (PTI)
