Addressing the gathering, the Governor said he would personally visit any village or locality that declares itself drug-free. He also announced that such local authorities would be officially felicitated in recognition of their efforts.
The initiative, the Governor said, is aimed at encouraging community-level participation and motivating local bodies to work collectively towards achieving drug-free villages and localities across the state.
It may be mentioned that the meet brought together participants from different sectors, who shared their perspectives on the challenges posed by substance abuse and discussed possible measures and the way forward to curb the problem.
