SHILLONG, Jan 15: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has opened a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) at Lumsohphoh Block-6, Fire Brigade, Nongthymmai. The center was relocated from its previous site near the Rynjah Dispensary to improve accessibility for residents.
The new facility can process up to 250 enrollment and update requests daily. Services include new Aadhaar enrollment and updates to names, addresses, gender, date of birth, mobile numbers, and biometrics.
During a visit to the center, Ngachan Zimik, Deputy Director General of the UIDAI Regional Office, Guwahati, encouraged residents to utilize the facility for their Aadhaar requirements.
The ASK operates seven days a week, excluding public holidays. To avoid queues, individuals can book appointments through the UIDAI portal or the mAadhaar app.
Applicants must bring original documents, which will be scanned and returned immediately. Aadhaar enrollment and Mandatory Biometric Updates for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 17 are provided free of charge.
