SHILLONG, April 1: Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) on Tuesday formally handed over key research and community engagement materials to the Mawmluh village community, marking a milestone in their collaborative partnership.
The deliverables included a comprehensive research report, a village map and posters and brochures detailing the Mawmluh cave. The handover follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between MLCU and the Mawmluh Sirdarship on March 20 to promote sustainable development and inclusive growth in the area.
The ceremony was attended by the MLCU Pro Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and faculty members, alongside executive members of the Mawmluh Sirdarship and representatives from the Mawmluh Tourism and Allied Activities Cooperative Society (MTAACS).
The university, in a statement, said that the partnership underscores the importance of academic-community collaboration in addressing local challenges.
