Govt floats Rs 438-cr tender for Mawkhanu Monolith Towers

SHILLONG, April 30: The Directorate of Tourism, Meghalaya, has invited bids for a major infrastructure project involving the construction of iconic monolith towers and campus development at Mawkhanu, estimated to cost over Rs 438 crore.
The project, to be executed on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis, is valued at Rs 438.23 crore, inclusive of GST and labour cess. The bidding is being conducted through a two-envelope e-procurement system.
According to the tender notice, a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 12, with the final deadline for bid submissions set for May 27 at 3 pm. Technical bids will be opened the following day, May 28, at the Directorate of Tourism in Shillong.
The project requires a bid security deposit of ₹8.76 crore for non-tribal contractors and Rs 4.38 crore for tribal bidders. The cost of the tender documents has been fixed at Rs 4.39 lakh.
The selected contractor will be required to complete the project within 24 months, including the monsoon season. Detailed bidding documents are available on the state’s e-procurement portal.
