In her post, Kajol wrote that the piece was inspired by the “Met Gala season” and emphasised the importance of “karigars” (craftsmen).
She tagged Johar and Malhotra, linking her creative work to their appearances at the prestigious event. Karan Johar made his Met Gala debut in a Manish Malhotra-designed outfit inspired by Raja Ravi Varma’s art under the theme “Costume Art.”
He described the experience as a full-circle moment, from being a cinema enthusiast to representing Indian culture globally.
His outfit featured hand-painted details and a dramatic cape. Manish Malhotra collaborated on the look, continuing his signature blend of Indian heritage and modern couture.
