SHILLONG: OM Roy Memorial HSS marched into the semifinals of the U-17 East Khasi Hills Subroto Cup football tournament with a 4-0 victory over St John Bosco at the JN Sports Complex, Polo, on Thursday.
Last year’s national champions will face Umphyrnai at 11:00am on Friday in the first U-17 semifinal.
Umphyrnai beat Mawngap DCM 3-1, while Umphyrnai HSS defeated Umpohliew 3-0 in their Thursday encounters.
The other match in the last-four stage will see St Anthony’s take on H Elias at 12:15pm.
Both teams required penalty shoot-outs to win their Thursday matches, with St Anthony’s beating Christian Academy and H Elias dealing with Tlongumiam.
In the U-14 boys category, OM Roy beat St Paul’s 2-1 to set up a semifinal meeting with St Anthony’s at 8:30am on Friday.
The second semi will see H Elias go up against Tyrsad HS at 9:45am.
