PT Usha backs M’laya’s sporting ambitions

Shillong, May 29: The Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA) on Friday extended a warm welcome to Indian Olympic Association President P. T. Usha on her maiden visit to Shillong.
Dr Usha arrived in the city at around 2 pm and was received by MSOA officials at the Shillong Marriott Hotel.
During the interaction, the MSOA leadership expressed gratitude to the IOA president for her continued support and guidance towards strengthening the Olympic movement and sports development in Meghalaya and across the North East region.
Discussions also focused on athlete development, improvement of sports infrastructure and preparations for the successful hosting of the 39th National Games Meghalaya 2027.
The association reiterated its commitment to working closely with the Indian Olympic Association, the Government of Meghalaya and other stakeholders to ensure that Meghalaya develops into a major sporting destination in the country.
