Subroto Cup Football Tournament from June 15

Shillong, May 29: The District Sports Officer (DSO), East Khasi Hills, has announced that the District Level Inter-School Subroto Cup Football Tournament 2026 will tentatively begin from June 15.
The tournament will be conducted for schools across East Khasi Hills district in three categories — Under-15 boys, Under-17 boys and Under-17 girls.According to an official notification issued by District Sports Officer O Mawthoh, participating schools have been asked to submit entry forms along with eligibility certificates, photocopies of birth certificates and recent passport-size photographs of players.The age eligibility criteria state that players in the Under-15 boys category should be born on or after January 1, 2012, while participants in the Under-17 boys and girls categories must be born on or after January 1, 2010.
The last date for submission of entries is June 8 during office hours at the office of the District Sports Officer.Screening and age verification of players will be conducted on June 10, during which original birth certificates and Aadhaar cards or acknowledgement slips must be produced.The DSO also informed that online registration has been made mandatory as part of the Digital India initiative. Schools are required to register players individually through the official Subroto Cup portal with an entry fee of Rs 2,000.Officials stated that only schools completing the online registration process will be eligible to participate in the pre-Subroto tournaments.
