NCC cadets of KV Umroi Cantt win top honours at training camp

SHILLONG, June 4: NCC cadets from PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Umroi Cantt delivered a standout performance at the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-53), held from May 21 to 30 at the 58 Gorkha Training Centre (GTC), Happy Valley.
The camp saw participation from 647 cadets representing various institutions across the region. The KV Umroi Cantt contingent consisted of 20 members, including nine Junior Division and 11 Junior Wing cadets, who competed in several categories.
Individual honours were earned by Anisha Pathak, who secured a gold medal in the debate and a bronze in the quiz competition. Gyanankur Kashyap won a silver medal in the quiz and a bronze in the drill competition, while Ankita Kumari earned a silver medal for essay writing.
The training camp was conducted under the supervision of Col Vishal Madhok, Commanding Officer, 2 Meghalaya Battalion NCC. The school’s participation was coordinated by Associate NCC Officer Krishna Nand Singh, whose guidance was instrumental to the team’s success.
