Khasi officer appointed as Deputy C&AG

SHILLONG: For the very first time, a Khasi officer has been appointed as the Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.
The appointment of Evans Rynjah Solomon of the 1980 batch of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service in the apex scale of pay was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet on June 27.
Solomon has served in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department for 34 years and was posted as Accountant General of Nagaland, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. He also served as Member Audit Board, Director General Inspection of the Comptroller & Auditor General and was, till recently, a Joint Secretary to the Govt. of India.

Solomon will also hold additional charge as Chairman, Government Accounting Standards Advisory Board.
