Six years after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, most of his friends and colleagues from the Hindi film industry remained silent on social media, with few public tributes marking the occasion.
Several actors and filmmakers who had previously remembered him on his birth and death anniversaries, including Kriti Sanon, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Rajkummar Rao, Amit Sadh, director Abhishek Kapoor, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez and former partner Rhea Chakraborty, did not post messages in his memory this year.
Among his industry colleagues, only Bhumi Pednekar publicly paid tribute, remembering Rajput through their film Sonchiriya.
Actress Ankita Lokhande, who was once in a relationship with Rajput, did not share a dedicated post but reposted fan-made tributes featuring their television show on her Instagram Stories.
While Bollywood largely remained silent, Rajput’s family and fans marked the sixth anniversary of his death with emotional tributes.
His sisters, Shweta Singh Kirti and Priyanka Singh, shared heartfelt messages remembering him.
Fans also flooded social media with posts celebrating his life and work.
Rajput, who rose to fame through films such as Kai Po Che!, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kedarnath, Sonchiriya and Chhichhore, was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34.
His final film, Dil Bechara, was released posthumously later that year.
