DHAKA, June 16: A top adviser to the Bangladesh Prime Minister said he returned from New Delhi airport after initially being denied entry, calling it an “instant protest.”
Dr Zahed Ur Rahman said he was stopped for around two and a half hours at the Indira Gandhi International Airport despite prior notification of his official visit.
Although Indian authorities later cleared him to enter, he chose to return to Dhaka instead, saying the situation required a strong response.
Bangladesh later summoned India’s deputy high commissioner and expressed “deep disappointment” over the incident. (PTI)
