SHILLONG, June 23: A resident of Mawprem Lumkshaid recovered his stolen motorcycle from a forest in Pynursla on Monday evening after tracking the vehicle via GPS and conducting a search with help from the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP).
The motorcycle (ML05 AG 1394) was stolen from outside the residence of the owner, Kedy Lyngkhoi, early Monday morning. Lyngkhoi discovered the theft at 8 am and immediately filed an FIR at Lumdiengjri Police Station.
Using a GPS tracking system installed on the bike, Lyngkhoi traced the vehicle to the Pynursla area. He then traveled to Pynursla with FKJGP members to retrieve it. Lyngkhoi alleged that despite informing the Pynursla police and providing the GPS coordinates, no immediate assistance was provided. He claimed that after waiting for several hours, the group decided to launch their own search operation.
The search team eventually located the abandoned motorcycle in a forested area at approximately 5 PM.
