Eid Ul Fitre
The Eid Ul Fitre Congregation prayer will be held on Tuesday or Wednesday (subject to sighting of the moon) at 8:30am in the Mohammadia-Al- Hussainee Mosque, Barapathar .The prayer will be led by Hasibur Rahman, Imam of the mosque.
Synod College
Synod College observed its Graduation Day on Saturday at Dinam Hall where over 400 graduating students were felicitated at a grand ceremony. Speaking on the occassion, MBOSE chairman EP Kharbhih congratulated the college for the achievement. Two students – Mena Medo and Esmar June Kharpran – who secured second position in Geography and Khasi Honours shared the Primrose Gatphoh Memorial Award.
Maths quiz
The Inter-College Mathematics Quiz Competition – MATHEQUIZ – was held on Saturday at St Mary’s College and was organised by the college’s Mathematics Department. The first of its kind in the region, six colleges took part – St Anthony’s, St Edmund’s, St Mary’s, Shillong College, Synod College and Lady Keane College. St Mary’s won the event, with Shillong College as runners-up.
