Leonardo DiCaprio narrates documentary on climate change

Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio has lent his voice to narrate ‘Carbon’, a documentary about climate change and effect of carbon emissions. The ’39-year-old ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ actor will also turn narrator for three upcoming short films based on environmental issues, ‘Green World Rising’, Restoration, and Last Hours, reported Us magazine. ‘Carbon’, which premiered on August 20, takes a look at carbon pricing around the world as a tool to reduce carbon emissions globally. “Climate change is happening now, and humans are responsible. We cannot sit idle and watch the fossil fuel industry make billions at our collective expense. We must put a price on carbon now,” says the star in his eight-minute piece in ‘Carbon’. The other three films will be released in the weeks leading up to the UN Climate Summit on September 23 this year. DiCaprio is known to be an environmentalist. He pledged USD seven million from his foundation to the cause of ocean conservation in June. (PTI)

Nicki Minaj’s backup dancer bitten by snake

A six-foot snake bit a backup dancer, who was rehearsing for a performance of Nicki Minaj’s new single “Anaconda”, on set. Minaj was on stage performing her hit, “Anaconda” when the dancer, whose name is not known, was bitten by the reptile in front of everyone, reports a website. The dancer was taken to the hospital where she’s being treated. Anacondas are non-venomous snakes but often transmit bacteria that can lead to serious infections. The snake was removed from the stage in a container. It is unclear whether the reptile will still feature in Minaj’s performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. (IANS)

Britney Spears, an expert at parroting too!

Pop star Britney Spears is not only a good singer, she also knows how to impersonate Woody Woodpecker, the animated bird known for his wild red pompadour and famous laugh. Spears shared a funny video on Instagram of her imitation of Woody Woodpecker Friday.  In the short clip, captioned, “Sometimes I do impressions…,” the singer is all smiles before she launches into the perfect staccato laughter made memorable by the cartoon character first voiced by Looney Tunes legend Mel Blanc, reports a website. And while we always knew the award winning artist had some vocal chops, she proved she’s also skilled at parroting.  (IANS)
