Nagaland NRE Secretary stresses on solar energy

Kohima: M K Mero, the Commissioner and Secretary of the New Renewable Energy (NRE) has stressed on utility and advantage of the use of solar energy in the Bi-monthly meeting of Administrative Heads of Departments (AHoDs) and Heads of Departments (HoDs) was conducted yesterday at Secretariat Conference Hall Kohima.

According to official sources the meeting dwelt on the new scheme of providing solar power plant to Government offices in the state capital. Chief Secretary Lalthara opined that such new schemes needed to be demonstrated and government department must work out the financial position for availing such projects.

He also asked all departments to process and implements the programme and schemes on time and reminded HoDs to contribute the state’s share in all centrally sponsored schemes.

The chief secretary informed that the visit of S.N. Brohmo Choudhury Senior Advisor to Planning Commission of India to Nagaland from October 1 and 2. Senior Advisor would visit Mon and meet the civil societies- Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization (ENPO) and Eastern Nagaland Students Federation (ENSF), Konyak Union, Konyak Baptist Association and head of offices of Mon district.

He will also visit Mon Civil Hospital and Chui Angh’s house. Mr. Choudhury would call on the Governor at Raj Bhavan and attend a review meeting with Departments. Senior advisor would also visit War cemetery Kohima before departure for Guwahati. (UNI)
