Violation of NGT order continues in Jaintia Hills

SHILLONG: There seems to be no end to violations of the NGT ban in East Jaintia Hills District as the district administration continues to detect several cases of extraction and transportation of coal on a daily basis.
In the latest such detections, on January 24 around 8:30 pm, RS Mannar, ADM, Khliehriat, detected two trucks (ML-04B-7187 & ML-04-4399) at Khliehriat driven by Stan Shylla and Ham Rymbai, respectively, which were transporting coal without valid documents.
On the same day, the same official detected three labourers – Md. Suiz Uddin, Md. Sur Miah and Md. Blika Rahman – who were extracting coal   from a coal quarry belonging to Joytal Swer in violation of the NGT order.
Later, the official again detected one labourer Wansha Syngkon who was extracting coal from a coal quarry belonging to Pras Bareh at Deinchynrum Rymbai Road.
JM Kharbudon, EAC, Khliehriat, detected three labourers – Md. Nashafa Ahmed Ali, Md. Ainul Hoque, and Md. Nazimm Uddin – while they were extracting coal from a coal quarry belonging to one W Shylla of Byndihati.
On January 22 around 7:10 am, DV Lyngdoh, EAC, Khliehriat, detected two labourers extracting coal without valid documents at Dkhiah East.
Besides, he also detected four trucks (ML-11-0696, ML-04A-07879, ML-04B-1090 & ML-04B-3472) driven by Rajesh Sympli, Sati Dkhar, Chedrale and Heman Nongtdu, respectively, transporting coal without valid documents at Lad Sutnga on NH-44.
