Tripura man jailed on charge of daughter’s rape
Ambassa: An Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ) on Thursday sent a man, accused of raping his daughter, to 13-day jail custody in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai. Police nabbed the accused Rajkumar Bhar from Mayachari area in the bordering subdivision for allegedly raping his four-year-old daughter on Wednesday night on the basis of a complaint lodged by his mother-in-law. He will be again produced before the court on February 5 next. (UNI)

47 Arunachal families get
land compensation cheques
Itanagar: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday distributed land compensation worth Rs 53 crore for the land acquired by the Indian Army at Bora Ropuk village in Arunachal Pradesh. The chief minister distributed the land compensation cheques to 47 families identified as beneficiaries at Dumporijo in Upper Subansiri district of the state during the launching of the third leg of Arunachal Rising campaign here. He was accompanied by Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju. Distributing the cheque to representatives of 47 families, the chief minister thanked the Minister of State for Home Affairs in expediting the land compensation within short time. He said across the country, no land compensation are being paid by the Indian Army except in Arunachal as special case. Khandu appealed the people to maintain harmonious relation with Army and paramilitary forces. He also spoke on the objectives of Arunachal Rising campaign and the benefits of ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ being conducted across the state. (UNI)

IAF resumes normal operation  at Arunachal Pradesh ALG
Itanagar: The Indian Air Force Thursday started its normal operation at Vijaynagar Advance Landing Ground (ALG) in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh after its helicopter was prevented by local residents from landing Wednesday at the ALG. The local residents had spread across the ALG runway of Vijaynagar Wednesday to prevent landing of the helicopter to protest the IAF chopper not carrying cardamom produced by them to Miao. Shillong-based defence spokesman Wing Commander Ratnakar Singh said in a statement that IAF has always been supporting the locals around all ALGs and border areas. However, because of some miscommunication, the official request for carriage of civilians and the load was not available on Wednesday. The normal operation with IAF load to build up Vijaynagar ALG has been restored on Thursday and based on requisition by state authority, carrying of civilian load and passengers has commenced, Singh said. Manipur CM attends selection process for start up projects
Imphal: Interview for the second round of StartUp Manipur began in the presence of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat today. In all around 4,000 applications were received online seeking assistance from the Government in the second round of StartUp Manipur. A high level selection committee headed by chief secretary Dr. J Suresh Babu would interview the shortlisted applicants/entrepreneurs of the revenue stage and assess their project proposals in a transparent manner till February 11. Each applicant was given three minutes’ time to present their proposals through PowerPoint presentation which mainly focussed on objective/concept of their project, location, required financial assistance, scale of work, market, employment generation and expected annual income etc. (UNI)
